M3U.COM is a dynamic business dedicated to enabling the provision of good quality, low cost television and radio production for the internet.

M3U.COM utilises the internet as the most cost effective distribution medium for broadcast production services. This enables us to offer an extremely cost competitive alternative to the more traditional industry offerings.

Existing television and radio broadcasting is a large budget proposition that by its nature covers events and content whose audiences are very large. There is an enormous amount of content and opportunity that is more limited in terms of audience size that is not currently broadcast by any means, primarily because the production and distribution costs up to this point have been prohibitive.

Because of the ability of the internet to act as a much more cost effective distribution medium than traditional broadcast technology, a new market is being created whereby events that traditionally would not attract audiences of sufficient size to justify broadcast production are now able to achieve this if the internet is used as a distribution medium.

M3U delivers a variety of services based upon its OB resources as follows:

IP Connectivity
Anytime anywhere IP broadband delivered via satellite connection. We can provide a 1Mb/s each way connection that is rapidly deployable from any point in western Europe. Particularly useful for events where internet connectivity is not readily available, or where connection sharing may not be ideal. Our satellite systems operate from the roof of our OB vehicles but are also portable when ground level satellite line of sight is not available.

Encoding Services
M3U is adept in the field of optimised encoding processes, providing a reliable encoding service for Windows Media, VC1, Real, Flash and MPEG4. We can provide optimised archive encoding to clients requirements as a standalone service, or in combination with our live production and uplink services.

Production
M3U provides OB mobile production services and systems to client requirements. We can provide equipped camera personnel, vision and sound mixing equipment and technicians, with archive to DV tape, HDV or whatever encoding format may be required by client. Post-production editing is available upon request.

Metadata Management System
M3U's proprietary MMS system is designed to meet the growing demand for live up to date information about live content. The system is designed to integrate in real time into a live stream any other content that may be relevant to the event, such as scoring information for sporting events, or presentation slides and/or voting results in corporate seminars. The system appears as a console in which the live stream is in one window and the slides or results in other windows as required. The system is extremely flexible and adaptable, and can be rapidly customised to a clients requirements. The information combined in the live stream is also preserved in the archive, so that subsequent non-live viewers enjoy the same experience as the live audience.

Rights Management
M3U can if required protect live content via its rights management system. We can provide simple registration security via email address authentication, or impose payment collection prior to content access on behalf of clients or rights owners. We can also apply geoblocking restrictions to streamed outputs where content is subject to varying rights in different global localities.
