| M3U LTD was formed in 2005 by a team of IT and AV professionals who identified the need to provide a mobile IP satellite acquisition facility to support all types of media communication service providers.
We provide our clients with a professionally managed, cost effective, hassle free transmission service. Our purpose is to enable the live broadcast of events that traditionally would not attract audiences of sufficient size to justify broadcast production by use of emerging technologies and communications networks. John has been involved in strategic planning, creating alliances and opportunities in the HFC / cable / broadband industry since 1995. Since that time he has successfully established and grown a number of businesses in this and other related sectors. Dominic Robinson | Technical Director | d2@m3u.com | Dominic is one of the first and longest established ‘Webcasters’ in Europe. He has over 10 years experience in end-to-end live (and on-demand) streaming media production for IP Networks, Multicast / IPTV network consultancy and planning. His particular focus has been the implementation of these skills in a live environment. He is a regular Technical Journalist and presenter for several leading trade magazines and conferences including: Streaming Media Europe 2003 (Chairman and Key Note Speaker – “Global-MIX”), ISPCon 2002 (Multicast – Inverting The Internet Economy) DDMI 2001 (Digital Rights Management – Truths and Lies), ISP World Trade Magazine, Streaming Media Magazine. He is a founder of several successful innovative startups, including Global-MIX, and DV2C, and his previous clients include BT, Westminster Digital (Prime Ministers Question time), Tornado Productions, National Theatre, Hewlett Packard, Eutelsat, NHS, Phoenix Telecom. Developed solutions for the delivery of content, whilst managing deployment and maintaining client relationship. Streaming Profile: Produced and built BT’s first fully mobile Satellite Streaming platform over 1meg bi directional carrier IP circuit. An experienced internationally travelled webcaster involved in live & on-demand events. Fully conversant with all relevant streaming media formats with a understanding of telecommunication & web based protocols Using satellite IP, (DRM, MMS, REAL, WMP, MPEG, HTTP, ASX, RTSP, PNM, HTML, ASP, JAVA , DOS commands). Developed detailed strategic plans for hardware & software solutions when webcasting via mobile Satellite IP. Broadcast Profile: Fully adept with IT protocol for duties in system support, user login, digital communication equipment, celluar phones, MMS multimedia presentations, data & video conferencing. Sixteen years extensive knowledge and experience in video filming production with commercial & broadcast cameras and formats,using digital non-linear post production edit suite. Experienced in ENG & studio operations, co-ordinating single & multi camera events and in developing projects from initial stages through to post production.
